Edgworth C Away

Edgeworth: 122 - Heaton Village: 11
Our 3rd match of the season took us to Edgworth to play their ‘C’ team.
Fair to say conditions were challenging to start with and got worse. The Green was very lush, very wet and had a good covering of leaf buds.
The first 4 out gave us 2 wins by Clive and Bill but this was after a break of 20 minutes or so due to heavy rain. Play continued in light rain and there were fine efforts from everyone. Mike had a good win and Phil gained a score of 18. Dave had a really tough match against an excellent opponent known to be a county player.
In the end, though we only had 3 winners, there were only 7 points in it. Our first loss of the season. We were well looked after by our hosts from Edgworth and despite the bad conditions and result another great evening’s bowling was enjoyed by all.
