Bradshaw Away.
5th April 2019
Heaton Village: 153 - Bradshaw: 149
And so, the 2019 season started with an away match at Bradshaw. It was great to see each other again after the winter break.
The conditions were good and the green dry. We had three winners in the first four, but all these matches took at least one hour as the players were evenly matched as can be seen by the scores.
However, the length of the first matches meant the second four were playing in failing light. Again, the matches were close and by the time the seventh pair finished Heaton were winning by only one point but losing four matches to three. With sun having set Ross and his opponent were left to play in the dark aided for several ends by two torches illuminating the jack! Obviously, this had been our secret tactic as Ross (secret carrot muncher) Cowie has night vision! Ross showed real tenacity and won his game which meant the team won overall 153 to 149.
Another enjoyable evening, well done everyone who came and played or supported.
